THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

Baptism is the Sacrament of new birth as a child of God. We are made holy by the Holy Spirit because we receive the new life of grace, God's own life.
Baptism takes away original sin, which we got from Adam and Eve. Baptism makes us members of the Church and gives us a right to go to heaven.
Before Jesus went back to heaven, He said to His Apostles, "Go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
The priest baptizes by pouring water on the forehead of the person to be baptized and saying the words, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
